Increased Kraft Capacity In India

The Kochibased company is proposing to increase its kraft paper manufacturing capacity from 70tpd to 170tpd. The existing kraft paper unit in the Edayar Industrial Development Area, has a capacity of 20,000 tpa. It is proposed to install new machinery to produce 100tpd kraft paper at the existing location and it is expected that the annual production will go up by 35,000 tonnes expected to go on stream by December 2006.

Sree Sakthi Paper, based in the Kerala state, was incorporated in 1991 and is a manufacturer of kraft paper and duplex board as well as paper for a wide range of products. Share of the world market has risen steadily since 1995 when it accounted for 19.5%, against a 30.4% figure for North America . Last year, says PCI, its share has risen to 25.9% while that of North America had dropped to 30.4%.
