The Yangtze River Delta region has been the most rapidly developing region in China’s corrugated box industry in recent years. It has nearly matched the Pearl River Delta region in terms of potential for development and has the capacity to overtake it. According to the Shanghai Packaging Association Paper Container Packaging Commission figures, the average annual growth of the Shanghai corrugated box industry is about 30%. The statistics show that right now there are 30 companies with annual sales of over RMB 100 million (USD 14.6 million) and more than 130 corrugated board production lines. Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, situated near Shanghai, are also currently enjoying strong development momentum in their corrugated box industries. The two provinces have 400 corrugated board production lines, with the second and third highest sales output value in the country.
